περάω, (1) von einem Ende zum anderen durchdringen, durchbohren, durchstoßen; bes. einen Raum von einem Ende zum anderen durchschneiden, durchreisen, durchfahren; τάφρος ἀργαλέη περάαν. ein schwer zu durchschreitender Graben; τέλος δωδεκάμηνον περάσαι, das 12monatliche Amt durchführen; ὃν μὴ περάσῃς, οὐ γὰρ εὔβατος περᾷν, er ist nicht leicht zu überschreiten; auch übertr., ὅρκον, übertreten, verletzen; κίνδυνον, die Gefahr bestehen, ertragen; πρὶν ἂν τέρμα τοῠ βίου περάσῃ, vom Sterben gesagt; (2) intrans., von einem Ende zum anderen hindurchdringen, eindringen; ὀστέον εἴσω, in den Knochen hinein; über einen Raum hin, hindurch gehen, fahren, reisen; ἐπὶ πόντον, ἐφ' ὑγρήν, über das Meer hinfahren; übertr., νόημα διὰ στέρνοιο, der Gedanke geht durch die Brust; εἰς Ἀΐδαο, in Hades Wohnung eingehen; εὐδαίμων, Κροῖσε, περάσεις, du wirst dein Leben glücklich hinbringen; (3) ursprünlich eins mit dem Vorigen; perf. pass. πεπέρημαι, über das Meer bringen zum Verkauf, verkaufen, vom Sklavenhandel; τινὰ Λῆμνον ἐπέρασσεν. einen nach Lemnos hin verkaufen
